A 72-year-old woman in India gave birth to her first child last month with the help of IVF treatment.
Daljinder Kaur and her husband Mohinder Singh Gill, 79, had almost given up hope on ever having a child after 46 years of marriage, The Telegraph reported.
"God heard our prayers. My life feels complete now,” Kaur told AFP. “I am looking after the baby all by myself, I feel so full of energy. My husband is also very caring and helps me as much as he can.”
Daljinder Kaur, 72, gave birth at the age of 70 said May 10 she was not too old to become a first-time mother, adding that her life was now complete. Daljinder Kaur gave birth last month to a boy following two years of IVF treatment at a fertility clinic in the northern state of Haryana with her 79-year-old husband.

The successful conception came in July after two failed IVF cycles, the Hidustan Times reported.
“It was embarrassing to not be able to produce a child, no doubt, but we have been busy with litigation all our life and hardly had time to think it over,” the new father and farmer said.
“After we got a little free a few years ago, we thought of trying for a baby,” he added.
The couple saw an IVF advertisement and Kaur realized she badly wanted a baby of her own.

The two used their own eggs and sperm to conceive the child.
"People say what will happen to the child once we die,” Singh said. “But I have full faith in God. God is omnipotent and omnipresent, he will take care of everything.”
In 2008, Rajo Devi Lohan became the oldest woman to ever give birth when she welcomed her daughter Naveen at age 74.
